I want to see her music video. Take one look at her bio page and try to imagine her reading that out loud.

Gratz v. Bolinger Diversity is good we could use some more. Compelling State Interest? Yeah, hardcore! U of M has the right to consider race, but you've got this quota system all up in my face! Your point system leaves me with a lot of doubt So the 14th amendment says knock you out! ...okay, maybe not.

Wasn't there a West Wing episode where they were concerned that a Supreme Court Justice was handing down decisions in verse??
I sort of wish I was good enough to write ballots in verse... who here remembers Dan West's haiku judging philosophy?? Patty |

He wrote it during a Creighton vs Truman round in which a Truman team said "stock issues don't matter in parli" --- It seems that since he'd made up his mind to vote for Creighton at that point, he had nothing else to do but write a haiku....

My favorite DA ever (long story)
I like tax cuts and I cannot lie,
Even Marxists can't deny, When an economy takes its monstrous waste, Puts incentives it its place, It gets sprung. I'll say it up front, The corporate budget's stuffed. Deep our recession's flaring, For tax cuts we ain't sharing, Oh baby, I'm gonna convince ya, So try this picture: Russel Meade tried to warn me, Downturn leads to nuclear war and BOOM So to save your precious skin, Time to flow this with your pens, And use me, use me to swamp out the one ay see. We need financin' The hell with [insert plan action in gerund form minus the g] The net, benefet, flies higher than a jumbo jet. Economist Magazine Says that tax cuts are the thing, Take the average chairman, he'll tell you that, He needs more money back. So fellas (yeah), fellas (yeah) Could your pocket use a cut? Lets make it (make it) make it (make it) make that lovely cut Got bucks back! (Little for the middle, thats the middle class) I like 'em round, and big, Now eating like a pig, I just can't help myself, I'm acting like an animal, So hear my scandal. I wanna buy a home, And uh, double uh, uh uh I ain't talking about a toy These interest rates give me poise. I want it real thick and juicy, So stop that stupid double,[*] Lets start to bubble, Or these nukes will cause some trouble. So I'm lookin at portfolios, P/E taking it ib the nose, You can have your ten oh four oh's, I need my money and mojo. A word to business sistas I wanna work with ya Won't tax or quit ya, But I gotta be straight when I when I say I wanna profit Til the break of dawn. Baby, lets get it on The dems won't like this song, Cause those punks like to tax and spend it, But I'd rather stay and pray, To be long, and be strong, And I'm down to get expansion on! So ladies (yeah) ladies (yeah) [**] If ya wanna own a Mercedes, Then turn around, Write it out, Even Democrats have to shout, We're overtaxed. (Little for the middle, thats the middle class) Yeah baby When it comes to females, Brackets ain't got nothing to do with my selection 36-55-78? Only if its two-three [***] I'd advise that old Fonda, To buy some bonds from Honda, Cause Fonda needs a motor like the grade A Honda, My anaconda don't want none because he's got stocks, hon Bush can do loans or programs, so long as we get cut, Some critters wanna play that hard role, And tell you the tax cuts need to go, So they'll drop it, and leave it, And he'll pull up fast to retrieve it [****] So their impacts phat? We'll I'm still down with dat, Cuz the war is bad and CP we're kickin', So you'd best be stickin', To the liberal dame in Time Magazine, You ain't it, Ms. Thing, Give me a sister, I can't resist her, The marriage penalty will miss her. Some knucklehead might yet miss, The logic in this dis, He had game but he chose to riff 'em, So I'm pulling fast to be with him, So judge at the end of this round, When its time for your throw down, Dial 1-900-cutalot and kick their nasty thoughts, Get yer money back. [*]: Double taxation = estate tax [**]: Only one judge, but she was a lady. [***]: Making up tax bracket numbers [****]: Said while pointing to MO. Some context: This is part of a speech I gave early in my parli career as an LO, in response to some funky rappy "Can't listen to white man's logic, we must rap everything and by the way here is our policy" sort of PMC. As soon as I figured out the case thesis I started writing a Bush disad to the tune of the only hip-hop I knew, although this probably is a little different, I'm working from memory. It worked perfectly -- the MG immediately collapsed down into arguing over my specific links, bit straight into my (prose) discussion on why rap is a terrible form of argumentation (words you do not want to utter when your plan is rap: "But your stupid advocacy privileges stupid rhymes over logical causation!"), and we got picked up. I'm still waiting to hear back from MTV about the music video. Patrick McKenzie |
