NDAA of 2012

Well, I'm kind of surprised no one has started a thread on this yet, so I guess I will. The Senate has signed off the legislation and the President has rescinded his veto threat.

What does everyone think?

I'm gonna start putting people in jail indefinitely, although by jail I mean basement. Punishment will exclusively be cruel and unusual.

Meh. This has already been government policy for a decade. I don't expect much to change. At least now we're not lying about it.

But that's just it. Before this, it was a presidential interpretation. This codifies it and legitimizes it. It also drastically expands the definition of who the law applies to, compared with the AUMF.
