USAFA judging

We are also still looking to hire a few more judges. Please email me if you are interested.

And LD is looking to be significantly larger. If you are planning on bringing several competitors in LD- please give me a head's up so that I can bring in more judges.

We look forward to hosting you!

Is the Round Robin going to be on campus or will it be at the tournament hotel or at a 3rd location?

Will judges with people only in parli or only in worlds be used in both judging pools? Or will they stay in the event that they have people in?

Last year the BP folks stayed in BP unless there was a massive judge shortfall. THe strike sheet listed which judges would do that also, so I would think that it would be done that way again this year.

Judge Strikes - Invitational Only

Hey folks,
A departure from the invitation. The strike sheet, and appropriate instructions, will be made available late Wednesday or early Thursday once I get on the ground with Gina. They will be due ASAP and no later than end of registration on Friday night. Teams who fail to submit strikes by that time will not have them entered until after round 2 of the tournament. Thanks all. See you at the Springs.

Mike

If paying by check

Make checks Payable to “University of Utah – Communication Dept.”

In the memo line, “FORENSICS” must be included.

Checks made payable to me cannot be accepted. Payment in cash is preferred.

Strike Sheet Available

The OPEN NPDA strikesheet has been emailed to all coaches via forensicstournament.net. Due to a peculiarity of the USAFA tournament, it cannot be posted here. But, if you need a copy, you can email me and I will send it to you directly as I periodically check my email today. Thanks for your cooperation. We look forward to hosting you.

Need a strike sheet? Need to submit it? Email: m DOT middleton AT utah DOT edu

Mike & Gina.

Here are the strike instructions provided with that list:

*Strikes are ONLY AVAILABLE IN OPEN NPDA debate.
*Each team may strike up to 7 Judges.
*Each judge's minimum commitment is listed.
*Please complete one strike sheet for each Open team and email or turn in at registration (save as: the team's code, i.e. Utah Middleton & De La Garza = Utah MD)
*STRIKES MUST BE COMPLETED BY 9PM on FRIDAY TO BE ACTIVATED BY ROUND 1.
*LATE STRIKES WILL ONLY BE ENTERED AT THE DISCRETION OF TAB AND AFTER ROUND 2.
* Enter "999" for a strike, or "y" for a constraint

Judging Philosophies

Hey folks,
David Airne (Univ of Montana) did the community the favor of putting together a nearly complete philosophy book for this weekend. It is attached. We thank David for his efforts on our behalf.

Round Robin Updates
Congrats to University of Montana on winning the 1st Annual Rocky Mountain Round Robin held at USAFA. And, to Brandon Fletcher (CSULB) on earning top speaker and finishing 2nd with partner, Marc Ouimet.

Stay tuned tomorrow for updates as rounds are completed and time allows. It's no Joe Gantt, but we try.

Round 3

The United States Federal Government should end the Department of Defense's Foreign Military Sales Program.

P.S. I am not as fancy as Joe Gantt and am transcribing these from cume sheets during down time for the collective good. So, if you are at the tournament and notice an error in my data transfer I am happy to fix it. I am more concerned with the ballots being accurate.

I sure have, but it is failing/creating a "spool error". TRPC 9/3/12 update.
