Guns on college campuses? Real legislation?

I was having a regular day at school when there was a flyer on one of the tables in the UC that was advocating that a piece of legislation go through the Texas senate to allow for people to carry concealed handguns on college campuses. Here is a link http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/7438290.html I honestly do not see the point of carrying a concealed weapon on a college campus. But I would like to see some other opinions on the issue. Even though I hope that there never comes a day that the person sitting next to me is packing heat because they are allowed to by the Texas senate.
