Hey everyone,

First, I'm a bit more rested so I'm not as upset as I was last night. Let me explain what happened. I was attempting to set up the "On Case" forum as it exists right now. I accidently created two "On Case" forums and I was attempting to erase one of them.

The EZ-Board administrative tools let you select a forum and then an action taht you want to do with that forum. I selected the forum I wanted to erase and clicked erase. This brought me to another page - where I was supposed to select the forum I wanted to delete again. I assumed that the forum was pre-selected and without reading carefully I clicked delete. At that point, the 3000+ posts we had were erased.

This happened at about 12:30 on April 10. At 12:40, I sent a request for a restore - a benefit that comes with the Gold Membership that you all are helping to pay for.

This restore, by all accounts, will take about three to four weeks. At that time, the the site will be restored to the way it was before I erased the forum. This means that all posts between now and then will be lost. I hope that everyone continues to post, however keep this in mind.

I am sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused and I hope that the community will continue to grow. I am expecting the restore sometime around the end of this month.

Okay, I found a way to preserve the posts that occur in between now and the restore. So post without fear! Your discussions will not be lost.

From EZ-Board

I can restore your ezboard from a backup made on 3/18/02. The last backup date that we did. If you did not have CSC BEFORE this date, then we will not have a copy of your ezboard. Remember, all changes to your ezboard since then will be lost. You may lose many topics because of this. If you'd like me to do this and are okay with the risk of this restore, then please tell me. Also, please remember to include these past emails (don't delete them) so that I can see which ezboard and what incidence you are following up on.

Remember, I think I have found a way to preserve the posts in-between now and the restore. Also, we'll lose about a month's worth of posts - between 3/18 (the date of the last backup) and 4/10 (the date of the loss).
