We'll collect them here for the purposes of research, practice, and preparing for out-of-region tournaments . . .

This House would “destroy” the white race.

Round Seven:

This House should value free speech over linguistic rigidity.

Octofinals:

The United Nations Security Council should grant permanent member status to one or more of the following nations: Japan, Egypt, South Africa.

Quarterfinals:

When dealing with Iraq, this House prefers military action rather than containment.

Semifinals:

This House believes that corporate crises are endemic to capitalism.

Finals:

This House would promote alternative media.

Rd. 1. Grades for evaluating student performance should be abolished.

Rd. 2. Democracy is not for everyone.

Rd. 3. Amy should be returned to the Smiths.

Case: Jane and Mike Smith, a married couple both addicted to drugs, are unable to care for their infant daughter Amy. She is taken from them by court order and placed in a foster home with Mary and John Baker. The years pass. Amy comes to regard the Bakers as her real parents. They love her as they would their own daughter. When Amy is 9 years old, Jane and Mike, now rehabilitated from drugs, begin court action to regain custody. Amy does not want to leave the Bakers. The Government Team must uphold this proposition: Amy should be returned to the Smiths.

Bronze Round: This house doesn't mind looking stupid.

Gold Round: A free education for U.S. students should be provided for 14 years, not just 12.

3: Case: Dylan is the only heir of a wealthy family. Just after receiving his inheritance, he discovers that the fortune originally came from a grandfather who obtained it in illegal and unscrupulous ways--exploiting poor workers, corrupting public officials, savaging the environment. Dylan is troubled about the source of his fortune. The Government Team must defend this proposition: Dylan should give away his fortune to charities.

BRONZE: America's golden age of culture still lies ahead.

GOLD: Winning is not as important as how you play the game.

Round Six: The legitimacy of the United Nations is dependent upon resolute action against Iraq.

Double Octos: In the American judicial system, non-citizens should enjoy the same rights as non-citizens.

Octofinals: The economic downturn is primarily the fault of
corporate mismanagement.

Quarterfinals: Bush should predominately maintain Clinton's approach to North Korea.

Semifinals: Political ideology should be the principle criteria for confirming judicial nominees.

Finals: One year later, the world is less safe due to the war on
