OK wise guy, here's the situation. You're a male debator in a round, and the last speaker was a HOT girl who distracted you from what she was saying just by standing in those high heels. You're the next speaker. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO???

Sorry for lumping so many things into the last option ... there can only be 5 choices.

I used to have this male partner who couldn't even flow if he thought the speaker was attractive... I talked to him several times about it but he just couldn't seem to help it. I just pointed his desk away from the speaker so he couldn't stare... it was very embarrising

 that's funny
I'm not really sure why men do this. I'm not prepared to believe there's that large a difference between men and women to the point where you can't focus on the debate just because she's pretty. My first thought was (and you'll forgive me, I'm sure or at least assume you're one of the few) there are not that many devastatingly attractive men on the circuit--although I've known a few. But that was struck down by the fact that I know lesbian and bisexual female debaters who have absolutely no problem concentrating. Then, I thought, maybe guys just think they can get away with it. Blast our gender biased society. Blast it all to heck.

Given the title clare, i think that the people posting on this thread are addressing once specific thing that makes men different from women.
I don't know if i know of devastaingly attractive people on the circuit, but then you missed the GDS discussion, and of course that changes everything.
oh. I thought the complaint was the distraction, not the embarassing physical change.
That's another interesting point, however, just looking at a pretty girl will do it for adult men? I find that curious if not difficult to believe. I thought boyses grew of that kind of thing.
And I've known some devastatingly beautiful women on the circuit. And one young man. I won't get more specific than that.
