Hello all, I know the student message boards have not been visited too much so far, but I'm going to try to revive the D1 Board. Any messages about anything involving the district are encouraged, and if you need the password, just drop me an e-mail at takennedy@ucdavis.edu

Take care,

Yeah, the threads about Santa Rosa, Claremont, etc. really do belong in the D1 forum.

But then again, some would maintain that Net Benefits is itself one big fat D1 forum....

Actually, the district forums are intended as a place for you students to discuss student stuff... so the claremont etc. posts need not be there.

And as for being a D1 thingy, I remind you that your Pope is from the evil Northwest ;)

They're crazy up there...

Hey-if I'd known how you were going to slander us, I'd have left you on the waterfront to find the bus station by yourself!
Jed, do you really want to start something? Because if we're comparing cities, let's start with air quality......and you can have your police chief back, too, as all the hippies he likes to beat up on are going to jail for trying to be terrorists.

Perhaps, Jed, but there's a method to our madness. The more we can convince Californians we're lethally nuts, the less likely they'll want to move up here and continue to erode our fine quality of life, (the finest this side of Minnesota, I'd wager)

Not to say we don't want ya'll coming to tournaments up here...we're a whole lotta fun. Just don't get *too* comfortable.....

So yes, we are going crazy. And no, you can't come.

ML,

So, Minnesota has a great quality of life?? Granted, it is pretty good, but at some point WAY too many people moved to the Cities, so I have traffic at 7 am.... eek... it wasn't like this when I left in 1990... we need some REALLY cold winters to encourage the transplants to go home and leave MN for us...

And, we still have those Twins and aren't claiming the Viqueens (except Jason, who will wear his Chris Carter jersey for every game on TV....'cuz I make him :) -- oh yea, and the Gophers are 5-0, but nobody cares -- funny that Nebraska would kill for that record...

So, is anyone here going to the Macalester tournament??? A good, radical school... just down the road from my good conservative school --- we've toyed with calling our team "the Tommie (re: St.Thomas) Girls...

well, see, I grew up in the backwater. Almost Lake Wobegon, but not quite. Good schools, clean air, natural beauty, all the cold cuts and jello salad you could eat. Minneapolis/St. Paul does indeed has a huge problem with sprawl and I wouldn't live there if you paid me cold hard cash. (and of course it would be cold and hard, since it's MN)

The NW is sort of like a much warmer, less community-focused Minnesota. The clean air and lush greenery are all here, and the traffic is really only crap-tacular in Seattle, but the schools aren't nearly as good because Oregonians refuse to institute a sales tax or reform the current income tax structure. And we wonder why Intel has to recruit engineers from out of state.

Crossing my fingers for the Twinkies,
ML
