Can someone clarify the moderation policy for me? I was under the impression that the judges forum was for the discussion of particular posts that could be harmful/ hurtful etc, and not for discussion of sweeping changes to the moderation policy that none but those in the forum are informed of.
I mean really, why the cabal shit dudes?
I love how that thread starts out ,"The following change to the moderation policy has been implemented by the admins", which just confirms the mod policy.
Well, the policies of each individual moderator are openly posted and are up to a yearly vote, usually around end of April, beginning of May. But I believe the Admins are allowed to change the overall site policy anytime they like.
For the record, I've found the admins to be quite open to helpful comments and discussion. I'm sure, if the new policy is THAT objectionable, the admins would be open to discussing it and changing it if necessary. In fact, Jason says so in the rest of the sentence Corax quoted: "though this implementation can be changed or rolled back if someone points out problems or suggestions for improvement."
Way to go out of context, Corax. That's the way to win an argument!
Citing out of context and an ethics challenge within four posts! Policy would be proud.

For what it's worth, I initially objected to this policy. I still object to the manner of its implementation. After some discussion, I had my mind changed (which we all know is a rare occurrence). I now support the policy and oppose the manner of its enactment.
I really don't think the general membership needs to be consulted when site-wide moderation policy changes are made. Terms of Use/AU policies are changed on sites all the time without consulting users. People can either raise objections or vote with their feet (or clicks as the case may be).

They took ouuur jobs!
Matt,
That's not what I was saying. If you have real problems with the new policy, go ahead and voice them. I'm sure they'll be listened to.
But really, everyone is acting like NB and having things their way here is a right, and really it's not.

I think people only want to have a say in a decision that affects them. Yes they deserve to die, and I hope the burn in heeeeell!
Except, the only thing this affects is your ability to tar me using my full/real name. I can still say "Kissmycls is a jackass," or even "Dan is such a bastard," or any such variations. But I can't use your full name. And frankly, it doesn't hurt my free speech one lick.
