Moderation Policies

Pursuant to the moderation policy here is my (tardy) moderation policy for 2006-2007. Expect others to follow on this thread.

Alan Moderation Policy - 2006-2007

I will continue on as I have this year. There are 6 categories of lesser-protected speech and those are the ones I will moderate.

They are True Threats, Defamation, Obscenity, Commercial Speech, Fighting Words and Incitement to Violence.

I support the right of people to speak anonymously, but attacks from Corax and Tisias will not be tolerated.

I will also remove all spam, regardless of source.

Moderation Policy for Dan Leibson 2006-2007

I will moderate absoutly zero content of posts. Non-Content moderation will be done pursuint to the site moderation policy.

I'm bascially a non-moderator. Sometimes I edit abusive posts so that people laugh instead of cry. But my general philosophy is that anonymous attacks are from people too small to put a name to the claim, so why should anyone care what they say?

As moderator, I will exercise my power that is in accordance with my religion: Entropic Actualization. I believe that the universe can only exist if the universe has the possibility of not-existing and, consequently, entropy is the natural state of the universe as it gives our creator a lifespan. However, natural forces were not enough to give the universe this dualistic existence, so it created beings (automated, conscious, and some transcendent), and it is these agents of entropy that defines and explains existence.

Given that I, a moderator, am an agent of entropy, it is my job to maximize the amount of energy that is used (and broken down into lesser forms) on this board. Consequently, I maintain a random number generator, and will use it to determine what posts are deemed anonymous, abusive, and/or in need of editing. Also, if the RNG (well, really a PRNG as I have not been able to invest in a quantum computer for this research yet) rolls a natural 20, I delete one of Jed's posts.

These guidelines encourage reposting, rewriting, anger, debate, discussion in the moderator/administrator forum, and death threats against myself (you are only verifying my existence). Also, posts about conservation, renewable energies, anti-warism, or other topics that have a net result of reducing the amount of entropy in the status quo, will be edited to say the opposite and reaffirm the gospel of life.
